Yeah, the weather really screwed us last year. A lot of people stayed home. Considering that, 60-ish isn't bad. If the weather is nice, we're expecting over 100 this year, maybe well over that.

I just checked the ThirdGen Expo FB page, and so far 69 people are coming, (some with more than one car), and 299 are interested.


We'll see....

 

We came in from Qc last year, which was ~16 hrs. It's a great event with great people. The trip alone is worthwhile.

I'm convincing some more people to come, so we'll likely have a Canadian convoy this year.

As long as the weather is nice, we're expecting a record number of 3rd gens!

 

I've been steadily working on mine. Just replaced all of the steering components last weekend and got the alignment done Tuesday. I would like to get the A/C all fixed up and the pinion rear end seal replaced before then. Otherwise I'm just getting in some drive time to make sure nothing else is wrong and it should be good to go. It don't look pretty with the rough looking roof and the right fender needing attention still, but it runs good.

 

I've been getting a lot of questions on FB on if your car needs to be a showcar to attend. The answer is ALL 3rd gens are welcomed, whether it's a trailered concours car or a primered project.

Put me down as tentative. I just found out my wife will be out of town that weekend so I'm thinking of making the trip up to Chicago. My car is in the shop right now getting chassis work done and not sure I'll have it back in time. If I can make it then the interior will probably still be stripped out but as long as I have a seat, seatbelt, and shifter then I can make some noise.

 

Hope you can make it, gutted interior and all.


This may end up being the highest concentration of 3rd gens since Van Nuys closed down.

I just got the Facebook thing done too. Forgot to do that sooner. I think I got my IROC ready to make the trip. Just finished fixing the A/C over the weekend. I will probably be there right after 10am. Little over a 2 hour trip for me, but won't get to head out till about 8am.

I've got a graduation to go to - got more invested in this kid than I do in cars (if you can imagine that).
