I am wondering what all u guys set ur transmission shifts to. I am currently running at 5500 from 1st to 2nd and 5000 from 2nd to 3rd. I used to have it at 5800 from 1st to 2nd and 5400 from 2nd to 3rd. Which is better. I liked the hard knock shifts the higher revs gave me but I want to know which is better for the 1/4 mile. So what do u guys run ur RPMs at...

is it hard/worth it on a trans that will be taken out in 3 months are a ture transmission

Yeah how did you set your shift points? With the EPROM? Or a manual way?

 

its with the automatic transmission. Its just adjusting ur tranny kick down cable. U can check out this link. It will show u how to do it.

P.S - When u guys hold the peddle to the floor and let the trans shift were does ur car shift gears at. Where does the RPM gauge needle go to before the transmission shifts gears.

To adjust ur Kickdown go here... http://www.iroczone.com/newindex.htm and then look in the transmission section and u will see "Adjusting Your Kick-Down Cable (TPI/Auto)". Its the only thing under that transmission section.

 

I'm gonna have to try this

 

if u are going to do it dont make it to tight or else u might snap the wire. and dont rev ur car past 6000RPM. that the limit for most tpi engines.
