need opinions for school assignment
HI,
I am writing a big paper for my advanced composition class and I need your opinions. The paper is about the best modifications for a third gen. firebird/camaro. The question is what would be the best mods for a tuned port injection engine.
Thanks for reading and responding

well...i dont know too much about this...but i guess you could branch your paper 3 (more or less) diff ways...you could go in to forced induction, NO2, and NA(high compression)
sorry to be so general...just getting the ball rolling and i dont want to give you any false info.
Mike

Since you have an '87 you already have some idea.
The "best" mods depends on your goal, the first step in any set of mods...set the purpose/goal. It's not the best mods buit rather the best combo of mods.
Anyway, assuming you want a "street rod" for strip/street and, since you specified TPI (LB( or L98), try these :
Exhaust-headers, hi-flow cat, cat-back.
Intake-ram-air, K&N, gutted MAF, 52mm TB, ported plenum, LT runners & base.
Ignition-hi-energy coil, low resistance wires, cut-back spark plugs.
cooling-160deg stat & fan sw, relocated MAT, TB coolant bypass.
parasitic-underdrive pulley set.
heads-pocket prorted Al heads, 3-angle valve job, large valves.
valve train-roller rockers on 7/16" studs w/ Ti retainers & 10deg locks, hardened guide plates & pushrods.
cam-roller (112LSA, 212/220int/exh @.050", .510"/.510" lift).
fuel-blueprinted injectors, AFPR, gauge on fuel rail.
CalPac-custom tuning of spark & fuel curves.
Now if you want a realy big paper, do some research to come with a "best" combo for a particular TPI motor (hmm, say an L98... in a GTA...). Have in mind some idea of a torque/HP curve as target.
Good luck with the project.
