cold start injector??

alright ive got an 87 IROC-Z. with the cold start injector, .. now i ran into a problem, i picked up a set of siamesed runners that are with out the whole for the cold start injector!. so 1. do i try and cut it out of the runner, 2. block off the injector, but i was told it helped start the motor, and with out it the motor wont turn over and run..
if anyone can help., let me know, thanks

i would believe the consensus around here would be block off the CSI and get and 89' bin and load it up. i would look into prom burning rather than runner cuttings. in 89' they eliminated the CSI and all 8 injectors "primed" the engine so no need for the CSI anymore. good luck

so when i get my new engine combo back together and i get my PROM burned shoud i just have them program it to not ingage the cold start ingector?? but after i do this will the PROM automatically make my injectors pulsate to through the fuel down rather than having the CSI?? thanx shaun

if you do that through the stock 87' bin, no it will not automatically pulse the 8 injectors. if you do load up a 89' bin for the appropriate engine/trans combo then it will automatically pulse all 8 since that is the way the new cold start system was designed w/o the CSI.
