cowl induction pics on a monte carlo
I had a few requests of how I had my set up for my cowl induction so Im going to just put them onhere incase anyone else wanted to see, I didnt get my gaskets in friday (thanks to UPS) so I just placed the intake where its supposed to go, but Im sure you guys will get the idea. I took the front piece (directly off the throttle body) from the paxton I have, but Im working on making one out of fiberglass, and when I get it complete Ill overlay the whole thing with carbon fiber for a custom cool look, the air cleaner is just a piece of plexy glass that I took a propane torch to and heated gradually and rolled the corners arount a piece of the 3" aluminized exhaust pipe I am using in a few places.

I think the 97 or so SS hood scoop stuff would be nice w/ a 4th gen camaro SS scoop molded into a Monte hood.
If you have a Paxton, why are you doing a hood induction scoop?

I had it feed off the cowl to the paxton, made a cleaner compartment when it worked but didnt like the paxton so just used what I had to bypass it all. Thought about the camaro SS set up but its reversed (sucks the air off the front of the hood) and by time I turned everything around to pull off the back I dont think that the bend would have cleared the AC pump, Besides with the KNN filter right now I have about $100 into it(that is if I would have had to pay for the filter, got a good deal on it!!)

I'm thinking you have quite a bit of vacume leak there judging by the gap where your runners and plannum meet
Serriously, it looks good. Did you notice any difference?

hahaha yeah vacuum leaks-R-us would be this situation, that problem will hopefully be remidied this weekend since I got my gaskets in, as far as any gains, its hard to tell I did that when I rebuilt the engine last year it was an all in one thing it seems no one ever makes one modification at a time to try to see what differences it makes, I know I dont, I did it more just to make the hood functional I was using it to eliminate the possibility of cooling problems with getting air forced the wrong way, seems to have helped in that dept, but could have also helped since I was getting cold air instead of semi cold air out of the engine compartment, I had a tube that went behind the headlights, but it wasnt sealed off so there isnt any telling how much cold air I was actually getting.
