Other than replacing the TPS, have you done any thing else to car recently?

what do you mean by bad? is it low voltage or high voltage? are you adjusting the TPS properly when installing it? if you havent do a search on TPS adjustment, I think its actually one of the tech articles off the home page

As I ask before, have you done anything else recently? You should see a puff of smoke or the smell of something burning as it goes out. If not, check wiring bundle to see if the center wire has been melted or rubbed and grounded somewhere on the exhaust or frame. Check supply voltage supply and grounded connection. Supply should be 5 VDC. Either the supply is to high or the center conductor is grounded pulling excess current through the resister (potentiometer) to ground. If you removed the throttle body make sure no wires got pinched when re-installed.

http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/1227165/ Go the the link above. Scroll to bottom of page and select page 2 for 5.0 engine. Print all pages, may come in handy again sometimes.

If you have a spark plug wire shorting to the block, it can (and in my experience has) fry the TPS in short order.
