IAC keeps stepping

I am trying to set the idle on my car. When I connect terminals A+B on the ALDL connector and turn the ignition on I can hear and feel the IAC stepper motor "stepping". I know this is normal for a little while, say 30 seconds but I don't think it should be "stepping" for 5 min. Please correct me if I am wrong. The IAC was bought new and installed last year. Also all the wiring is correct.
Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated.

Justin

I've never tested this theory.......

But I'd think the IAC is going to keep stepping because its trying to hold an idle, if it stopped reacting then you'd stop idling.

Yes, it keeps going. You are only supposed to let it "run" for 30 seconds as that is all it needs to fully retract. I assume you are following the IAC adjustment procedures?
