code 33 help!!

ive read through all the archives and tried everything except putting in an aftermarket chip to get rid of my code 33 in my 87 trans am with a 305 TPI vin code F including:

-new MAF sensor
-new MAF relays (power and burnoff)
-new TPS
-Adjusted TPS by sticking things between it and the lever on throttle and by turning actual sensor (now at .62 volts on idle)
-checked all wiring from sensors to relays and to computer through firewall
-New ECM
-went through all diagnostic steps in the shop manual

i am still nowhere, the car will either start with the SES light on or drive for awhile and after stalling or severe uneven throttle (without touching pedal or while holding steady car revs drastically) the light will appear and upon shorting ALDL i get a code 33 and every now and then 33 and 36. has anyone found a fix to this problem other than buying an aftermarket PROM which some have said gets rid of the problem?

I doubt the prom has anything to do with it but you can check
with a GM dealer and see if there is an updated prom that
addresses your issues.

yes, its supposed to be .54 give or take .07 so i put it to the highest, well a little over because from an explanation i got before, the TPS is telling the computer that the throttle isnt open far enough and the MAF is telling it how much air it is getting and when it compares the air to the position of the throttle it thinks there is an impossible amount of air coming in with the throttle open so little, hence it says the MAF is bad.

I brought it to a mechanic buddy of mine who scanned the computer and he says that the knock and MAP sensors are bad and i need a new EGR valve. im going to replace these 3 things and see how it goes.

if you have a MAF, you don't have a MAP.
i would set it back to .54 and see if your problem goes away before you start replacing things.

I guess that is the right way, the MAF reading is high (someday, I'll remember which is which )... hmmmm. I always had to set the TPS lower to fix it. I'll have to figure out why that is.

Try setting it at .4v

ok thanks, guess i had it all backwards.... ill try lowering it tomorrow and see how that works. i know i tried lowering it real far before but it started choking out, kinda sounded like a performance high compression engine if you ask me. but ill set it to .4 and see what comes of it, i do think my EGR is bad though cause in the shop book all the symptoms of a bad EGR are happening to me but ill trythe TPS first cause its free.
