well for starters make sure you have a free flowing exuast. Do all the free mods. Clean up your intake or cut the air boxes and put k&ns in. Gears and torque convertor always help. here is a lot of stuff you can do all its all on how much money you want to spend.

I have an old Car Craft mag at home with an article about the new 93 LT1.
It has a graph(hp,tq) comparing 93LT1 vs 90 L98 vs 70 LT1.
To my surprise the L98 from 1000-3800rpm was the strongest motor in hp and most important torque.
This is the rpm range that you probably use 95% of time.
So don't sell your L98 short.

well you got to think, with a stock L98 you got like 240-245 hp, a stock LT1 has like 275 starting off, that's like the basic line model, you know with out ram air, or what not, So you basically got to play alittle catch up. For one thing the LT1 has a different intake, its like the opposite of the L98, Cause we make a lot more torque, and give up alittle horse power cause of our runners, And they give up alittle torque and make a lot hp. So I would go with the Holley Steath Ram, That should take care alot of that gap, As someone stated with some dyno results, With a HSR on a stock L98, they got like 30hp at the rear wheels, and all's they had was a Catback. Our cams are not that different than the LT1 so thats not a big deal, but they do have alum. heads that flow better than ours, but if you do the mods like the in the prev. post like headers and cut your air boxs, with the HSR you should kill a LT1 with easy.

Well this is just what I think, and if I'm off fellows please don't hammer me too bad But I m pretty sure with that combo you should be able to take on a LT1, or if not hang like a champ.

I have beat stock LT1's with my setup and only about .2 at the most behind ones with catback's, free mods etc. But when they are modded extensivley watch out!!! I would definately recommend the tc change and headers to begin with. I wish I would have Then look into some aluminum heads, cam, gears, intake work, D.I.Y. PROM by then those stock LT1's should be nothing but filling rearview mirrors

IT AIN'T CALLED "NAUS"

The easiest way is Nitrous.

LT1 intake on a 383, then you take care of the LS1's, and possibly LS6's too.

If it needs it, i would do a nice tune up. I know that won't help that much, but it's nice to do a tune up if you have high miles. You just got the car right? But when i get my car, the first things I'll do is SLP cold air (prob),hooker exhaust, hooker lt's,port plenum, and a lot of other things. Those will be my first things, with many to follow Now...Just find a car...........................
