Stealth ram tech article

Well guys I got my fuel rails today and I'm going to be installing everything this weekend. Since I've got some extra time, I'm thinking about taking pics an writing up a tech article about it. What are your concerns and questions that I should address in the article and be sure to take pictures of.

I would like to see:
  • Side by side pics of the SR and a TPI
  • Some detailed mesurements of the SR
  • Adapting the fuel lines

what do you mean side by side, like intake ports compared or just the height in general, I can tell you from looking at them side by side the SR intake ports are huge compared to tpi. Now the fuel lines I m not too sure of them, my buddy will help me with that. He might know of a better way of doing it. What kind of measurements are you talking about? I can try to help with it cause I got it here just chilling waiting for the fuel rails to get here.

I dont really have precision mesuring stuff at home so someone else is gonna have to get the measurements for you. What do you mean by side by side pics.

all I want to know is how it performs after you put it on. Like how good it runs below 2000rpm, the perfomance at high rpm, milage, and reliability.

Very nice. Stealth Ram real world info:

I want to know if this intake can support a horsepower peak at or above 6000 rpm's with AFR 190's and my 224/230 dur, 503/510 lift cam.

I'll get a good guess if you dyno yours! Dyno it and take it to the track for sure.

My friend may have access to a chassis dyno this summer, so I may be able to dyno my car, but I'm only going to be talking about 350 hp, If someone wants to send me some free afr heads I'll throw them on and see.

I just dynoed and tuned a mild 391" SBC with the stealthram last week. 232@.050 on the intake hydraulic roller, Holley heads.

Made 445 HP at 5700. Still was making almost 440 at 6000 where we stopped the pull. Needed more cam to make more power, intake was no bottleneck for sure.

356 ft/lbs at 2000 RPM, 440 at 3000. Peak torque was 460 at 4400 but was very flat. Made at least 400 ft/lbs from 2700 to 5800 RPM.

Idled very smooth and would make a great street engine.

I'd be interested in knowing if the height is the same or less than TPI. I also would like to know if the end of the throttle body is the same distance from the distributor as with the TPI. I have a ZZ4/TPI stuffed into the back of my Fiero and space is really tignt around the TPS. A longer plenum is a problem and a shorter one would be great. Thanks.

This is putting a grin on my face. I am currently building something similar to this, only a little more extreme. I shipped my AFR 190's back to have them upgraded to the 100% CNC'd AFR 195's. The springs and retainers have been upgraded to support up to 0.60 lift. After they are finished, they'll be shipped to Nu-tek Motorsports who will put them on top of my 396 SBC sporting a Cola 4340 forged crank, Callies splayed billet steel caps, 4340 Eagle rods, and forged SRP pistons. Then the engine gets shipped to me where I will top it off with my Stealthram and drop it in the Iroc.

Then once the engine is broken in, I'll install my Nitrous Express kit which is collecting dust

I believe you could pull over 400hp to the wheels NA after you play with the Commander 950 enough. Those are the perfect heads for that motor. Keep us posted!
