Hi. I have 350tpi from 87 T/A on my 70 Camaro. Now, last couple weeks I have had problems with the idle speed. One day the idle speed is fine all the time. But then on the next day, I donīt have idle speed at all. Car will stall everytime when I raise my foot on the gas pedal. Should I just replase the IAC Valve or check out somethin else first?

Does the check engine light come on before it dies?
Have you checked for codes?
Do you have any readings from the TPS or coolant temp sensor?

 

The check engine light doesnīt come on when the engine dies. I havenīt check the codes. And I did disconnect the battery today, cause I did some welding job to fix a dent. The car died all the time this morning when I went to the work, but when I left from work, it worked great. And now I came back home from garage, it worked fine. Next time it dies, I will check out the codes immediately. I havenīt checked out the redings from the TPS or coolant temp sensor. Do I need scanner or computer to do that?

 

If the check engine light has nas not been comming on the there
probably are no codes to look at. I would say to have someone
put it on a scanner and see what it is doing.
