spark plug gap

i have an 85' TPI car w/ an MSD 6AL and 8mm Taylor wires, the rest is stock.... what should my spark pluge gape be?

You could probably run .050 with your upgraded ignition

Stock runs .035-.045 (hei)

They work just fine

Also NGK's are a good yet cheap plug.

The price mainly.

I've witnessed them cause knock at lower timing and compression than other single electrode plugs on the market, the last thing a thirdgen needs is more detonation

I refuse to run platnum anything in my car.


(Unless it was a stock 4 cylinder which I dont/wont own )

Same here...will not touch platnum plugs

quite the opposite

"Others" (being platnum) have no place in "high performance" engines, last thing you wanna do is melt off some platnum and get it stuck between a ring at 7k rpms.


Platnums belong in stock engines giving them a little bit longer life and maybe a tiny bit of umpf
