LT1 intake--Can I use B-Body fuel rails?
I'm putting an LT1 intake on my engine but the intake is off of a Corvette so the fuel rails exit on the wrong side. Can I use fuel rails from a B-Body (Caprice, Roadmaster, Impala SS)? I think they only used 14# injectors so would the ID be smaller on the lines? Anything else different about them that would keep me from being able to use them on my engine?
There are two types of 2nd GEN engines that were used in the B/D bodies. The LT1 with 24pph injectors and the L99 which used 17pph injectors. The L99/LT1 intake itself is the same, as are the rails. I'd reuse the stock injectors from your system honestly.

I agree with GhoSSt, the intakes and rails are the same. I have seen both.
I didn't know the L99 had only 17lbs injectors.

I'm going to initially run the injectors from the Vette TPI that came with my engine (22#?) and will maybe upgrade down the road. So I shouldn't have any problems with B-Body fuel rails, regardless if they're from an L99 or LT1 on my Vette intake? Just double checking because I've found the Vette TPI to vary slightly from F-Body so maybe it was the same type of thing for LT1.

As long as the intake isn't a '92-93, those years have to use matching fuel rails.
'94+ intakes also have to have the matching fuel rails.
'92-93 fuel rails CAN fit on a '94+ intake but not the other way around. You wouldn't want this for a LT1 intake swap anyway, the early rails have a crossover pipe in the rear that would interfer with a distributor. The '94+ have the crossover pipe in the front of the rails.

um, ok, some one want to clarify somethin for me. . . I got my lt1 off of a 96 buick roadmaster with a 350, does it have 24 or 17 lb injectors? how could a motor that flows better than an L98 have smaller injectors??

you should have 24#ers. i believe the L99 is a 4.3L V8 so since it's smaller it only has 17#ers.
The intake i'm looking at getting is from a '96 caprice cop car (not sure if lt1 or l99 but assuming lt1) and the guy lists it as having 14# injectors which i think is a mistake. i asked him to send me the numbers stamped on it. did they ever use the L99 in cop cars or use 14# injectors stock?
