UPDATE-found out what ses light means, now i need some more help

well guys/gals, guess what! i found out what my service engine soon light kept coming on intermittently for. it popped up codes 33 and 36. both are basically the same thing, low voltage to the maf sensor itself, and low voltage to the maf burn-off wire (im guessing the wee lil wire in the middle that everyone is so scared to break?). well my first instinct (although maybe not the right one) was to check alternator voltage. i checked first on the silver lug with one wire on it (hey, gimmie a break, i work on humvees, i wasnt exactly sure how to check it!) there i got nada. then i checked the little red wire, there i got about 31 volts AC. is this too much? so my next probable cause is this. the last retard that had my car put SILICONE on all of the sensors! and it wasnt sensor safe! so i think now, even with the new maf, i may be getting a bad connection. what do you guys think? the reason i see for all the dern silicone, on that particular connector anyway, is because he broke the connector all to hell. so my proposed solution is as follows: find a new connector, butt-splice it into the wiring harness after checking the rest of the wiring harness (the cut ends.) for proper voltage, continuity, etc. so the help i need is as follows, i need to know what wires for the mafs to check and what their proper voltage should be, also i would like to hear any other probable solutions to fix this problem (it only happens every now and then, if you turn the car off and wiggle the harness underhood it will sometimes shut the light off, rarely though, and sometimes its enough to make the car stall.) i would greatly appreciate any help i can get. thanks!

if i were in your shoes i would not touch anything and go get a mass air flow sensor burn off relay (maf burnoff relay) its usually the culprit and its only like 8-10 bucks
if that doesn't fix it just take it back and say you got the wrong sensor and that the problem is fixed now
if that doesn't work then go to town but don't mess stuff up for a little relay

Driver side against the firewall, there's like 3 relays and the ESC there.
