aftermarket distributer???
Has anyone changed there stock distributer for an aftermarket one? I'm looking at a MSD, or maybe something else. Also if anyone has a used one that is in good shape that they want to get rid of, you can e-mail me at gmanrs@shaw.ca

I haven't done it but you haven't gotten any replies yet so I'll give my opinion.
The CC'd aftermarket distributors are extremely expensive compaired to gains, however the MSD unit looks very nice and If I was to come into some money I could spare I'd probably pick it over the other options.

Well thanks for the reply. Maybe the stock distributer is good enough for now. You seem to do alot of replying, maybe you could help me. I am having a problem with my 350 TPI. In short it runs like a piece of s#*t.It knocks and pings going up hills(knock sensor probably) and it feels like i'm dragging 1000 lbs behind me. I have replaced the EGR and EGR soleniod. Do you know how to get rid of a posting that I don't want?

What posting do you want to get rid of?
As far as the knock your sensor could be dead, or the wire unplugged. Knock isn't an uncommon thing, maybe your timing is to far advanced, or your mods require less timing than stock. First I'd get a scanner and see if you're reading knock counts, if you are then that circuit is ok. Then I'd check your timing at rpms and see if it "freaks out" anywhere and dumps way to much timing in (esc/est) If not then you simply have to strong of a curve and the only way to fix that is to lessen your base timing, or to start burning proms
I opt for the second choice.

Any of the popics that I post personally. As for the car I'm going to get an injecter flush done and scan the car as well today. The timing I have adjusted to 6 degrees btdc with the little brown/black wire disconnected.I'm not sure what the total advance timing is supposed to be so I haven't done that. And the distributer is just the stock one. The car seems like it should have more guts to it then it has. I'll let you know how everything turns out.
