If summit quoted you $700, you looked up the wrong stuff. The prices, as well as the part numbers have been posted a million times and will be easy to find with a search.

Thanks to brad, For reminding me that Thunder Racing has it.
Its about 455 bucks for the intake and fuel lines.

That's WAY too much for a 305. The stealth ram flows almost 300cfm per runner. The 305 probably doesn't need 300cfm for the whole motor. Stick to a long tube runner setup for the 305 so you can still make enough torque to turn the tires.

My crystal ball says that you'll gain 20-25hp at 5500 RPM, and lose 50 horsepower at 3,000 rpm.

So here's the plan. I'll run an 1/8th mile pass, I'll put on the stealth ram, spend a few days "perfectly" tuning the computer, then run another 1/8th mile pass just for giggels. Post the results so people can see that too big of intake = bad

I doubt it'll do that bad. You WANT the intake to outflow the heads by a good amount to make power.

Ed, Doug Flynn lost over 30 hp at 3,000 RPM on a stock L98 with the stealth ram, so the 305 has to be looking at AT LEAST as much of a horsepower loss (though I'd guess more), and it's not going to make it up on the top end because the TPI isn't nearly as much of a restriction on the 305, especially with the **** peanut cam.

So whats the deal with this "Stealth Ram" thing? I was lookin at gettin the TPIS Mini-Ram but I saw the Stealth Ram at Thunder Racing and now I'm torn.. lol, I'm also gonna throw a Hot Cam w/ 1.6 RR's in the motor this summer too.. Ofcoarse, a "Custom PROM" is in the works too

Anyway, whats the story w/ this Stealth thing?

Oh, and Jim.. I went to your page and realized, when my IROC was in the shop gettin fixed up after a minor "Winter Accident" That I was near obsessed w/ your project on restoring the 85.. EXCELLENT Job man, :hail:

Thanks.

As for stealth ram info...

It's been beat to death a hundred times. Just do a search and you'll know as much as the rest of us.

I can't take credit for it. Somebody on ne3g made it, and Brad has adopted it since. I more or less borrowed it from him.

It is pretty useful though, because not only does it get our point across, it provides those who didn't know about that feature a nice visual to help them find it.

In case you didn't notice, BenDoe is talking about a 91 1LE 5 spd car with ported and cut for larger valve stock heads and a sweet cam grind for a 305. I'd say he has a lot of room to improve over a stock TPI set-up.

Oh sure he'll lose some low end torque. Maybe even 50hp worth. I think the gains up top will more than make up for it though. You can't make peak torque in the low 3k range and have a fast car at the same time, you have to be realistic. Being that he is stick, as long as he can effectively drive it i think he'll be fine. Even in an A4, my 3k+ flashing vigilante is very driveable and would definitely be faster with more power in the 4k+ region, no matter how much i gave up in the 3k-4k region, i only spend under a second in that RPM range anyway, who cares about power at 3k? Christ, i've spun off the line at this point and still cut 1.8 60's, a little less power at 3k would be a nice change...

Since he's actually going to try it and give us results i guess we'll see for sure though.
