Who's got a Hotcam in their daily driver?

Just wondering if anyone is running an LT4 Hot cam in their daily driven car....Drivability OK?

Yup, been running it for about a year and a half now. You will have to reprogram your PROM for it to be driveable though. And you'll probably want to set your idle a little higher too, mines at 750 rpm.

Same here, built the engine in 1998 and put it on the road in 1999. Passes NJ treadmill emission test no problem, gets 28+ mpg on the highway, and ran 13.19sec@102mph back when I had the auto trans in.

My engine specs are in the page in my sig...I wouldn't run this cam (or any other big cam) in a stock engine with low compression or stock heads. Waste of $$.

To make it run efficiently you'll need to do some software tuning, but the process is covered in the DIY_PROM forum notes.

I dont recall the hotcam specs, but I think mine are very compairable.

Deffinatly streetable, assuming you've got very deep pockets

I've spent $30 on gas this week and its wednesday.

Wow, that's a lotta gas to burn. Do you have 1/4mi times on it?

I'm running the wimpy 163cc aluminum Vette heads and 3.42 gears, probably accounts for the better fuel mileage and isn't hurting me too bad in the hp/torque dept.
