SLP Siammesed Runners

I've got an 89 305TPI.
I've read around the net that SLP Siams will give me 35hp???
Is this even close to being true?

About as true as that airfoil of your's giving you 15hp and as true as K&N air filters giving you as much as 25hp. I have never put a set of SLP runners on my can but there is no possible way it will give you 35hp. It will surely help your breathing if you port your plenum to match and then port your lower intake. I have been eye balling these but my engine is an internally stock 305 with a few bolt-ons so I am thinking that my money will be best spent elsewhere.

I wouldnt get them, i hate them, i have a 350 and they didnt work good at all, didnt pull harder up top and I lost low end torque as well..lol Seriously my results werent good, lost .2-.3 tenths and 2-3 MPH. I thought it felt faster too til I saw my slips, make sure you run before you swap runners and KNOW what your car can do then see what your own results are but dont just buy em and slap em on you might be working against yourself....

anyone know of problems with these???

i put them on my car, and had a major vacuum leak that made the car idle at 3000 rpm, i reinstalled them twice and nothing solved it but the stock runners. Anyone know if there is a difference between the 85-89 runners and the 90-92 runners besides the cold start injector??

I sense sarcasm but I have PROOF they made me slower when most dont make before and after runs to verify a damn thing. When I have my complete after market intake port matched and I bolt it on and the I find the runners slow me down yet AGAIN with proof in slips then yes they will be for sale shortly after....

Mean....a 3k RPM?? You know you can put these on backwards right?? Wanna know how I know?? My 1st experience touching anything under a hood was SLP runners and I did just that. Make sure they go on the proper side if not 3k RPM was what I had as well, not saying you did this but who knows?

I didn't try them on my stock base, but on the accel base, there was some interference around the outside of the mating surfaces. The size of the runner seems to be larger than the machined surface on the intake. I had to grind a little metal away on the runners for them to sit flat. Maybe you have to do the same.

They are not worth the money if that is all your going to do, if you have other intake mods, along with a high flowing intake manifold/plenum, and a good exhuast, then buy them, if thats the only thing your doing, dont bother

When they say a K&N will give you 25HP...they're talking about the FIPK...not JUST the filters. I'm not saying that 25 is right ....but just letting you know.

I do believe that the PR guy at SLP should be fired!

Just look at the promo add all over the net and magazines.

Some port are siamesed and some are not.

ThirdGenZ28 92 - were your 60 foot times the same (before and after) also?

My 60fts were similar, Ill see if I can dig thru old slips and post them but the car was slower from there on out including times and MPH. Returning the stockers got me running back to where I should have been all along. Ill see if I can get those slips, my worst runs ever came with those runners installed I couldnt get them off quick enough and so far SLP products have been nothing short of a waste for me...

I don't recommend you getting the SLP runners as the stock tpi pulls fine for the stock motor. If you modified the motor using a bigger cam and aftermarket base and even heads. the last logical thing to do would be upgrading the runners. Now that there is the option of siameasing the stock tpi, who wants to spend $200 when they can just spend a couple of hours( more like 4+) make the stock tpi pull up to 5500+ rpm and still make power. The air foil trick is a complete laugh and the K&N may give you back 10 hp if you old filter had like 100,000 miles on it
