well my friend's 91z has a leaky intake. so off it must come. what mods can i perform on them? i have heard of porting the plenum as well as the lower base portion? must stay cost effective here, buddy is short on $$$$
is a edelbrock base worth the money? then maybe hand port the upper plenum
tia for any suggestions.

You can knock down the walls in the plenum just behind the TB opening, the port match the rest of the intake. It is pretty obvious what material to remove.

Siamese the lower base. If you do a search on this board (top right of page is the button. Look it up...its a relatively cheap and simple mod that moves the RPM range of the intake up to 6000 rpms.

Port and clean up your plenum and your runners, and then you can perform work on your stock intake manifold, not worth buying an aftermarket one, unless you plan on modding the rest of your car
