Simple Spark Plug gapping question

I changed my spark plugs about two weeks ago. I had the Platinum 4's and it was time to change them. Someone told me that the Platinum 4's aren't worth the money if you have an MSD Ignition on it (MSD 6AL). So I decided to try out some cheapo spark plugs (AutoLite)...gapped at .040 (stock is 0.035). Couldn't notice a difference except that the spark plugs were new so of course they're going to work better. Anyhow, two weeks later...I'm not getting the same response as new.

Is there an ideal spark plug to work with an MSD Ignition? And if I have minor mods, how much over should I gap them?

I don't think there is any perticular plug gap. I'd try setting the gap to 35 and see if it makes a difference.

Usually an MSD will allow for a wider gap, I wouldn't go over .055

MSD says you can gap them at .055, I've been setting mine at .050
