Whichever is cheapest since you plan on porting it a bit anyway. And yes, the runners from one company will fit another's base since they all claim to fit "stock" manifold bases they are all inter-changeable.

Supposedly, yes. There again the TPIS is probably the most expensive to.

And for $400 you can get John Millican's modified LT1 intake which will be the last intake mod you'll ever have to do. www.lt1intake.com

PS: Don't believe the people that say it will kill your bottome end torque. I just installed a Miniram (which the LT1 intake basically is) on an otherwise stock engine. I have MORE torque < 2,500 rpm than I had with the TPI setup. And this is without an optimized eprom (that I had for my TPI setup).

I would say I loss a little (and I do me very little) torque from 3,000-3,500 rpm, but everywhere else its more. Especially after 4,500 rpm. I can now add a cam and have the engine make some REAL power.

even without personall experiacne i know that losing low end torque is lt1's make there peak torque at 2400....whats the diff between his and a stock lt1 manifold....how much of a torque and hp increase will u get from this conversion....and what does it intail....just a bolt on or what?

Glenn,
Have you had problems with coolant? I have heard horror stories of people having coolant leaks into there oil.

Also f-crazy,
Selling your TPI intake will cover most of the cost of your LT1 intake.

quick question...with the lt1 manifold what cam would be better suited to it...the lt1 cam or comp cams xr252-hr-10

int lift .472
exh lift .480
lobe center 110
252 int duration
254 exh duration

one thing im not to sure of...i know what lift and duration is but how does lobe seperation acceft the cam?...the lobe serparation is the degrees from the center of one lobe to the next correct?..and how does differnt angles affect idle power etc...

most of the cams i see have 110 to 114 whats the differece?

lt4 hot cam would be sweet with a lt1 intake setup. Thats what im wanting to put in later. My lt1 is almost ready to run. Alls I need to is hook up new battery cables and run my collant lines and I should be ready to go. Im still waiting on my battery and battery bow to put it in the hatch area.

You should probably do all that stuff if you're gonna build a 400 horse 305.
