Carbon Canister Purge valve/solenoid??
Ok, after several trips to the local dealer, I can't seem to find a carbon canister purge solenoid for a '92 TPI setup. The one that was originally on my truck doesn't seem to work, and the dealer cannot locate such a part for a '92 TPI IROC, its looks from their computer diagrams that it may be part of the canister itself.

Can someone verify this if it is in fact part of the canister, what I need is the control solenoid that the wires from the ECM plug into, is this a separate peice or do I have to get the entire canister assembly?
Thanks

My car is an 87 TPI car but as far as I know its the same as the SD cars(I converted to the 730 ecm without any problems).
Here is a picture of my car before I tore it apart and redid everything

Thanks lierch, the part that the dealer ended up ordering was the round valve on top of the canister in your pic. So that solenoid with the red plug will not detact from the canister separately?

I have the 92 L98 and it sure looks like the solenoid detaches from the canister top. There are 4 tangs that hold it on.
When I posted orignally I was at work and didn't give it much thought but yes the silnoid is detachable. My canister was broken in that picture, I had charcol leaking out of it so I got a used one from the junk yard and put my harware onto it. I forgot all about doing that this past winter.
You should be able to get just the solenoid for it.
