stupid injectors

I have read through lots of old post about very loud clicking sounds coming from injectors, but there is not a post about getting them quite. I have stock injectors on right now and the rest of mods are in sig. does anyone have a fix? It is embarasing driving around in my car.

I'd probably pull em and clean em first.. I dunno, never heard of this problem before..
You sure it's the injectors?

i kinda like the sound of my imjectors clicking, cuz I can hear it through the cowl on the hood.... I would try to throw some over the counter fuel system cleaner in it first, could be fine dirt or dust particles stuck in them.....

gonna try injector cleaner today..... the more gas you give it the louder it gets. Just started about a week or so ago. I am using the stock injectors until I can get a chip burned and put the 24 lb injectors back on. Thanks for replies any one else want to add there 2 cents.

From my understanding you're not supposed to use injector cleaner on your injectors. Something about the wiring being exposed in them.
Anywho I had a clicking it turned out to be my y-pipe to ex-man had a leak.

If it gets louder the sound definitely isn't the injectors. You've got an exhaust leak. Have you even listened to see where it's coming from? Why would you NOT be able to use injector cleaner on injectors? It's fine, just don't put injector cleaner in a carb or you could end up removing it in the near future.

I believe they are the rochester inj. in the 90-92 or something like that. cruizinperformance told me that since the wiring inside the injector is exposed to gas the use of injector cleaners wears them out.

reason I think it is the injectors is because I unplugged the back passenger side and the noise stopped (quickly plugged it back in). A few days later the back one on the driver side started clicking. I think almost all of them are clicking now. It is loud and very annoying. I have the rochester green injectors on now but as soon as my afpr shows up I am putting on the 24lb svo's. I can't get a chip burned for a little while so I am going to tune the fuel pressure down. Anyone know what I should set the pressure to. When I had 50 psi going to the svo's the car only ran for about 30 minutes before all plugs were fouled out. If the car will foul out plugs even with fuel pressure turned down I am not even gonna try it but I think if I put the other injectors on maybe the clicking will go away.

thanks rezinn and slow91ta you were right leak at the back passenger header flange. Checked it closely and found a missing header bolt.... Go figure, If I unplug the back injector the cylinder does not fire, therefore no clicking sound. After tomorrow no obnoxious noise from the engine compartment. Thanks once again.

Why not use injector cleaner in a carb? Is there any type of cleaner you should not use in a tpi engine? I would have guessed that injectors would be more sensitive to cleaners than a carb.

Maybe an exhaust leak is what I've been hearing. The shop told me it was injectors clicking but new injectors didn't help. My BIL has same car and his "injectors" have never clicked, and he got new ones too (alcohol in our gas around here supposedly dissolved the coil insulation inside the injectors.) I've tried to locate the clicking with a stethoscope but all injectors sound almost identical. Also, if they were all clicking it seems I should be hearing a much faster clicking. If it is an exhaust leak, would I be able to hear the leak from just 1 cylinder & not those next to it also?
