What kind of injection?
I am going to be starting on a motor soon and was wondering what setup i should go with. I have seen many different types, superam, stealth ram, tpi, ramjet. I am not to knowledgable when it comes to these types of things. What do you guys think.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
LTR:
In my opinion this option loses value everyday, each individual part costs the same as what an LT1 intake would, and everyone says "Oh but it makes to much torque" well if 1 more ft/lb of torque below your stall speed matters to you.. well then ok you're weird.
LT1:
Cheapest option by far, I picked mine up for.. I believe it was about $40, came with all 8 LT1 injectors, fuel rails, throttle body, map sensor, fuel pressure regulator, and TV/Detent cable mount. This intake is virtually the SAME thing as the miniram, which is going to cost you well over $1k, it will breath as good as if not better than all the others, and will probably be your last intake after running one, if you absolutely must go further, gasket match and port the sucker and you're done.
Super ram:
This option is probably the first step up from the LTR, it should still make torque everywhere, but probably wont rev much higher than a properly ported and siamesed LTR setup, so what was the gain? who knows, maybe it was a lighter wallet
Miniram:
The miniram was made by TPiS who allegedly GM coppied while making the LT1, so you can look at it one of two ways, Its the "Original" and was made by the "Pros" or you can look at it as older than the LT1 and the LT1 is the new and improved version, granted the LT1 was cast quickly and slapped on a production vehicle so not hardly the time and effort went into it as into the miniram, but I look at the miniram with one thought in mind... WHY THE HELL DOES IT COST SO MUCH DAMN MONEY
Stealth ram:
I like this option about as much as the miniram, its new, its designed fairly well, its based off of a known performing carb intake, it looks cool, and If you pay for someone to refab an LT1 intake and all the little odds and ends to make one work you'll be almost to the price of a ready to rock stealth ram.
I hope you can form your own answer from that even though my response is highly opinionated
