Get the dart II's ported. They are a little weak on airflow. Besides that, yes.

That's exactly right. I think this setup is capable of 450 hp @ around 5500 rpm. It's the same cam I have. I was going to sell it 5 days ago because I thought it wouldn't be quite perfect for my plans, which is your exact same combo, (except AFR 195 heads and a 150 shot of nitrous.) I asked Comp Cams to design me a custom nitrous cam, and they came up with this:

224/236 @.050, .477/.490 lift w/1.5's and a 113 LSA.

When I told him the specs on the 224/230, he said it will work every bit as well, just keep the compression at 10.5 or less. And don't bother using 1.6 roller rockers unless you already have them. He said we won't benefit with them on this setup, so stay with 1.5's.

This cam was in my buddy's SuperRammed 391 with AFR 195's and made 372 rwhp (430 at motor) at 5250 rpm. The SuperRam was holding the power curve back by about 250-300 rpms according to all the dyno tests we've seen with carbed intakes using that same heads and cam setup in 383's.

Keep in mind that his car was decently tuned by an expert with DFI. If you have that Commander 950 stuff and spend time playing with it, 450 hp at the motor is doable if you get those Sportsmans thoroughly ported. With those heads out of the box I think you'll be lucky to hit 420 hp @motor. If it's not well tuned, expect to be about 15 to 50 hp less than optimum, and make sure there are no other bottlenecks or weak links in your entire airflow, fuel or spark path of course (intake box, 58mm throttle body, headers, y-pipe, exhaust, distributor, plugs, and injectors (30#'s on this will be great without power adder) fuel pump and fuel filter.

The thing should be flat mean, my brother. Nice choice. If it's an auto, imagine doing the perfect torque converter and rear gear ratio for your planned tire setup as well (soft hitting lower stall for street tires, hard hitting higher stall for slicks) IF the answer is slicks, say hello to Mr. 12 bolt or Mr. 9 inch or say goodbye to your rear end and get ready to replace that 700R4 tranny too.

I think it could run high 12's @ 111+ with the stock converter on street tires, and high 11's @ 113+ with the perfect torque converter and slicks.....with suspension mods. You could stand to shed a few pounds, too.

Toughest decision for me is whether to use 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" headers. Everyone's advice is always bigger is better but I've seen some 383's with 1 5/8" shorties waste the exact same engine with 1 3/4 long tubes. It's a close call on this one.

Have fun and keep us posted, cause I won't have my setup on the chassis dyno or at the track until March.

Noticable, oh yes. It's still very tame in a 383 and would pass emissions if the stealth had egr. I don't think it would pass emissions in a 350. That would be lopey as hell.

My SR will easily pulls to 6000, however best times I had were shifted at 5800.

That makes sense, cause most hp peaks I've seen with SuperRam setups are between 5200 and 5600 so a 5800 shift would be about perfect. I've never seen a SuperRammed car with an actual power peak at or above 6k though.
