i was reading in another post where Ed Maher said that the maf on someones car was not maxed out. if it were what other options would there be for a 350 (or 383).

I think you can get MAFs from a forced induction car like a buick turbo or somethin, but you may need to put in resistors to change the voltage levels to an acceptabel range for TPI... I am not positive, burt there has been some post going around about it

I believe there are translators for the lt1/ls1 mafs

Or you can get a wells maf

I'm not aware of any translators for a TPI setup. Doesnt matter much anyway, even if you did install a MAF that could read to 1500CFM, the computer is still limited to around 440 (whatever 255gm/sec translates to) and you'll still have the same problem as before. About the only thing it might do is free up some restriction in the intake tract. Doesnt sound like a good $/benefit ratio to me.

by computer do you just mean the EPROM or the whole ECM. cant that be upgraded, especially the EPROM?

i have seen a translator on ebay once for maf tpi cars, it was listed as a performance corvette part. i only saw it once and it was after the auction was over so i didnt get a chance to get it.
