dont really know where else to post this right now:
i parted a silver 81 old cutlass supreme brougham a few months back and the VIN said it was a 5.0L TPI car, so i snatched the puter and complete nice harness for it, and well i was told just after that that TPI didnt exist in 81 so i was like hmm.,..
i never really looked too hard a the harness, the drivetrainw as missing, so i just snatched the harness and puter and stashed them,
well, i been scrpaping my collection of parts last 8 years owrth last few days and well i scrapped the puter, and just now i came across the harness and its not an ESC or a TBI harness, so it must be a TPI one, it has several similar looking plugs split into two groups(sides of engine) so it just has to be TPI, i am unfamiliar with TPI, but am with TBI and ESC, so,,,, dunno what else it possibly can be for,,,
either the car was a rare one-off car or ppl are wrong and yes GM had TPI in 81.
how where to find out ??
and is the harness worth anything, or do i junk it also along with the power doors off the car ?
hmmm.,,,,,

theres eight of some weatherpack type pugs,
two sets of four, two on one side are three wire and other is four wire, rest are two wire, maye one two wire one in the other group for other side of engine, one is blue, one is gray and others are black, and also is one white round plug with a metal pin in center, larger version of brake combo valve wire pug,
wish i had a digicam., its not an ESC E4ME harness, the puter is even bigger than one for that system anyways, too many plugs for it to be TBI either.
what is this harness ? what could it be then ?

I think you got your info from the wrong year. gm uses the same eng. code but, changes the eng from year and platform.
I show it as a '81 olds cutlass suprm brm v8 260 4.3 2bc
