I saw your car at mission on friday. Nice car man. You gonna work out your bugs and race on the 30th? Would be cool to see a sprayed run. I may show up, my buddy with his modified 89 5.0 wants to race me again so he can attempt to beat my stock gta . A stealth ram is definately in my future when I get some cash and time.

For the fuel lines i ran custom lenth braided steel line with dash6 fittings on each end and i used Earls fittings to join the lines to the stock rubber lines. I cant remember the exact p/n right now but ill see if i can find them later.

Yeah that was me at mission it was a pretty sad day, for me anyways. I had bad luck all day, was in a huge rush to get the car running this week that i didnt have a time for tuning it and the time slips (which i wont post) deffinatly showed that. The stock chip isnt helping any either. Oh well ill just have to wait untill the dfi comes in then ill go tuning crazy.

Anyways if anyone has any other questions about the install just ask and ill see if i can get a hold of a dig. camera to take some pics for you.

I would love to get a step-by-step rundown of the fuel line install. I HATE fuel lines modifications so i know im gonna fumble it big time. I ordered the fuel rail fitting kit, (two fittings) so i have that. Pics would be good too!!!

I cut my stock fuel lines as they start to bend upwards right next to the trans on the inside of the frame rail. There I installed two compression fittings, and used 3 feet of steel braided line on both the return and supply lines. All of this cost me $103 in lines and fittings and the labor to fab the lines.

why????

why not just use some rubber hose and clamps? it's cheaper!!!

i noticed that the return and the feed line is on the same side???

isn't that going to mess with your fuel pressure???

Badgta- if you are referring to my photo, the one line is for an external fuel pressure gauge, not the return line. The number one reason that you wouldn't use rubber hose with clamps is safety.

They make some hose clamps (on steriods) for use with fuel injection pressures, but IMHO they're still not sufficient. Neither are the aluminum earls fittings that tighten on each other to hold to the hose. Both of these will never hold up as well as machine-pressed fittings.
