Cleaning TPI intake?

Was looking in the throttle body the other day and managed to stick my finger in there to see how dirty it was. Finger came out and it was literally covered with this black soot like stuff. I suspect the whole intake is covered with this crap.

How do I go about cleaning that? Do I have to take the intake off and clean it by hand? Or is there an easy way?

if you really want to get it clean you will have to take it off. I just did mine with B-12 Chemtool choke cleaner and soapy water. Be sure to rinse the choke cleaner off really well.
