Plenum porting and cleaning
I just finished porting my plenum. Now there is a TON of metal burrs and flakes everywhere. What can I use to clean this out? I dont want to leave any of it in there and have it get into my engine.

You did port it off of the car right? I took carb cleaner to get the carbon loose, because the aluminum shavings were just sticking to it. Wiped what I could off then sprayed more carb cleaner. Put the plenum and the runners (I fixed them up too) in the dishwasher, put in gel and powder soap and a bit of vim (it said works to get grease off so i figured what the hell might as well...). Set it to pots and pans and voila, they couldnt have been cleaner. It even cleaned up the nasty lower parts of the runners. Just make sure you do this before polishing the outside if you are going to as it left little spots on mine I had to re-polish out. My dishwasher was fine afterwards no marks or smells or anything but if you feel like it just give it a few extra rinse cycles. good luck.

After I finished porting & polishing my plenum, all I did was get a high pressure hose and blew out all of the metal flake, then I wiped the inside out and let it sit for a while to fully dry off
