I'd go AFR 190's. As for cam, I haven't seen much on good cams to use with the HSR, but I would guess something a little bigger than the HOT cam would be good.

Heads have always been the key to power with a SBC.

If you got the cash, AFRs if you want to remain "Standard 23* Chevy", like aluminum and use EFI. For "iron" I like Pro-Action Lightning. I believe they now have smaller intakes that will work well with the EFI setup. But Pro-Action is more of a "race head" for big cc intake manifolds. If you want to go EFI and a "big cc head", then you will be stuck with the Miniram. Unknown to most people, but TPIS does make a "big port" Miniram. The regular Miniram does have limits on how big of an intake port you can match it too. I believe 210s is either at or just over the limit with the "regular" Miniram.

Great info Glenn, I did not know that about a big port MR. You know how much more it flows over regular? I may have to remember this for my dream 427 Motown buildup.

No. In fact, I don't know what the regular Miniram flows - TPIS doesn't publish those figures.

I found out about the "big port" Miniram from another moderator. He was running the "regular" Miniram and wanted to upgrade to AFR 210s for a turbo SBC project. He had been running AFR 190s with his Miniram and found out the regular Miniram ports were too small and didn't have much metal left if you port matched it.

That is how I got my Miniram
