For you 383 Guys, I got a ?

What size of injectors are you running? I have a 383 with a miniram, AFR 190 heads and I will be using a adjustable NX kit. I have a opportunity to pick up a set of 30 lbs SVO's for real cheap but will I need them or are they to much.

your injector size does not so much depend on your engine size as the hp that your expecting to make, now Im running 30 lb injectors in my 383 but I really should have installed 36lb injectors and will need to upgrade.as my injectors are almost always maxed out flow wise in the upper rpms, here use this site, only change the (HP) the duty cycle and bsfc should remain constant

http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/fuel_injector.php

keep in mind that a 350 making 450hp will need the same injector size as a 383 making that same 450hp, hp is the result of effectively burning a set ratio of fuel/air mix and just because the 383 only spins 6500rpm verus the 350 spinning 7200rpm to do that will have no effect on injector size

uhhhh

is that at wot, or normal driving as well??????

24lb are good to 450hp from everthing iv'e seen, so why would a person need more than say 30's for an street strip machine????

what are the stock duty cycles?????

I'm running Bosch 24/25# injectors (designed for variable flow based on fuel pressure). They seem to be working fine, although I'm not sure what the duty cycles are running. Can I check that with my Tech 1? See my sig for my combo.

Later - Mike........

I'm using 36's now. The old combo had 30's.

Equation for duty cycle from LT1 edit mailing list:

duty cycle=100 X ((pulsewidth(ms) X RPM) / 120,000)

Don't know how accurate it is though.
