Verify Fuel Pressure 305 Vs 350
ANSWERS I HAVE FOUND ON THE BOARD SAY FUEL PRESSURE IS 42-43 PSI. BUT, CHEVY HI-PERFORMANCE MAGAZINE IN THEIR TPI BASICS ARTICLES SAID A 305 WAS 36 PSI WITH 19 LB INJ, AND A 350 WAS 43.5 PSI WITH 22 LB INJ. TRUE ?? 36 PSI ON A 305 ??
MY SVO 24 LB INJ WITH A STOCK 305 CHIP AND 305 FUEL RAIL ON MY 406 INDICATE LEAN WHEN CHECKING THE PLUGS. I AM THINKING NOT ENOUGH FUEL.

43.5 psi for all TPI f-bodies. The only TPI car that ran a lower fuel pressure was the 85 Vette.

You're not running lean with 24lb injectors (actually 26ers) with a stock MAF 305 chip. More like you're running so rich that you're lucky you haven't ruined the engine yet. You're running well over 25% rich across the board right now in open loop, and even in closed loop you're bottoming the BLMs and still running rich
Do yourself a favor and get the right chip in the car. Then you can BEGIN to think about other issues.

THANKS ALL FOR THE REPLIES.
HOPE TO HAVE NEW CHIP IN BY END OF NEXT WEEK. HAVE NOT BEEN DRIVING IT LATELY BECAUSE OF THE HIGH TEMPS. STIFFENED UP THE AIR DAM AND ADDED AN INCH TO GET MORE AIR FLOW AS I DID NOT LIKE WHAT I WAS SEEING ON THE TEMP GAGE. THE ONLY THING I WILL MISS IS THE WEEKEND CRUISE TO THE APPLE ORCHARD.

My IROC ran so rich that it fouled plugs and left black stains under the tailpipes on the garage floor. Thread
