Do the late 350 Roller Lifter blocks have the same oil flow to the Rocker arms as the old non roller blocks.
I just built a 92 350 , I used the factory Roller Lifters with a
.520 int .530 ex lift cam Duration 220int 235ex 114 lobe seperation.
I get very little oil flow to the Rocker arms, is this normal.
and my valve trane is noisey.
I know old small blocks would shoot oil over the fender well at Idle.
My oil pressure is indicating 50psi.

Any thoughts

 

I have the same situation with my 71 350 block. I have a ton of oil pressure, but it just drips off the top of the pushrods at idle. It's enough to keep everything well lubed, but you're sure not going to get any in your eyes.

 

I have a 92 roller block & the oil oozes up the pushrods & runs down the rocker to the spring. Having it squirt all over the place seems counter productive. You need it where it will do some good, on the moving parts.

 

Ive found the only time oil squirts that Much, Is when you Have the Rocker Too Loose.

 

My squirts the same, late model 350 roller block, new 383 motor , 2 bolt main, 50psi oil pressure. Same drip from pushrods. 7k miles on the motor, no problems yet that I can tell.

Well except for the centerforce pressure plate having a few cracks now... it just won't take a joke

Just make sure you have some dripping across all the rockers, make sure none are dry at idle. Should get a good flow at around 1500-2000 rpms. If you are getting none on the rockers up front and you have good oil pressure, that could be an indication the the oil galley plug behind the cam gear on the block on whichever side is not getting oil may be leaking or has come loose. Thats rare but not impossible.
