my car was driving good the other day, but i was noticing a small bog type siuation. it would occure intermitenly. it woulod drive good then drop about 4-500rpms and feel like is was dragin or running doggish. the car runs fine, idles fine but when you get into it it kinda feels slugish. I hooked up diacom and it is giving me a code 42.. I assume its the ign module????? any other ideas?? pls help this motor is brand new and I just want it to run good with no probs...

code 42 is "Fault at electronic spark timing circuit, direct ignition system, or fuel cutoff relay circuit" ive got a book - "how to tune and modify chevrolet fuel injection"-it runs u throug hthe whole computer setup in chevy fuel injected cars and what each code means and how to troubleshoot...it could be the ignition mod but this is just one possiblity...this is all i know (id buy the book-its helpful)

Yeah I know about the code and what it means its just a pain in the *** to trace. There are many things it could be.I did some research on here and from a gm manual. My friend David Emanuel actually wrote the book you are refering to. He is the one that owns random technology. I called him the other day to talk to him about it and he gave me a few tips to try..
