Can injectors be changed without removing the runners?
You would think that removing the runners is no big deal, but it is on mine because in order to get to the lower runner bolts I have to remove the valve covers. I have some custom removable top covers that are as wide as the head since the mounting bolts are on the inside of the cover then theres a removable top to the covers. Plus they are taller than the stockers.
So, I'm going to swap injectors this weekend and was wondering if it can be done without removing the runners?
Looks like maybe the driver side would come off without removing them, but not sure about the passenger side since theres an egr passage tube in the way on the runner.
Thanks

Yes it can be done. That's how I did mine cause I broke a torx bit inside a lower runner bolt. Those lower runner bolts are a PITA to get to anyway. the only thing is it's no fun fighting with those clips holding the injectors to the fuel rail.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Great, I will attempt it this weekend. Getting to the lower runner bolts with the old stock center bolt valve covers used to not be a problem usung a swivel head socket with the torx bit in it.
