Need a new alternator, suggestions?

The alternator on my '89 Formula 350 died last week. This was the 3rd alternator in 60,000 miles. I am getting tired of getting stranded by them.

I tried looking for the B4C 140amp heavy duty alternator, but they have been discontinued for a long time.

I need something that will power my stereo system and live pretty long.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Summit is selling 140 amp alternators for TPI cars, if you have the new catalog it is on page 140.

If you can get one, I'd look for a high output ac delco alternator. I've never been happy with my remanufactured ones.

Buy a new A/C Delco 105 amp one and your problems will be solved. Stop buy that remanufactured junk they sell at Parts Stores. My opinion.

You can get one for a caprice/impala SS, i THINK you need one different bracket which you can get from GM
