what size injectors should i buy?

well, i am going to have stock (albeit refreshed) 1978 350 shortblock
(about 8.5:1)
305 58cc heads
Tuned Port Injection
and either the ZZ4 cam or the LT4 hotcam

kinda sounds like a weird setup, but my friend who had the 305 heads had them on his 350 and he really liked them, he even told me that they were mildly ported, i cant verify this though so i am going to assume they are stock

my currect injectors wont work, because the TPI i bought came with 305 spec injectors (i forget the weight)

seems like this engine is going to be a low-rpm torque machine, which is what i am aiming for

so what size injectors should i purchase?

It really depends more on what your final HP is going to be. Is this going to be a MAF or Speed Density setup? My MAF Corvette came with 22# injectors which are good for just over 400hp for the most part with tuning. I just recently bumped them up to 24# to lower the cycle duty a little bit.

Go as big as reasonable future plans would call for. When it really comes down to it with a stock ECM, a mild motor can use bigger injectors than a radical combo really. If you're planning on real heads in the future, even running 30s might not be too extreme.

Running 30's might be a bit much on something like that, the pulse width will try to drop too low at idle, and the engine will drown in fuel. I'd stick with something like 24's. Keep in mind too that the injector constant on the chip needs to match the injectors or the fuel flow will be all wrong. Sometimes you can change fuel pressure to correct this, but not always.
