Air Filter Q?
Ive seen a few cars that have taken off the MAF sensor, and the rubber boot going to the front dual air filters., and they have on a cone filter going directly fromt he TPI.. I have an 88 Iroc with a 305, anyone know what it takes to get one of those filters on? is it worth it? and do you have to reprogram your chip since the MAF is removed? Any help would be extremely helpful, thanks so much.

its not that easy, For an 88 fbody you'll have to convert from the MAF setup to a Speed Density setup which was available on 90-92 f-body's. There's a tech article on the site that shows you how to do that. Without doing the converstion you won't be able to just throw a filter onto the throttle body. A more recommended mod is the Cold Air Intake (CAI), do a search for those and you'll have a bunch of posts on how to make your own

yea you could go buy one of those, but IMO unless you're making some ridiculous amounts of horsepower it aint' worth it. do the search and you'll find tons of posts and from the looks of it, doesn't seem to hard to make. and it can range from $40-$100 depending on what materials you want meaning for cheapest stuff you could use PVC piping, but if you want it to look good you can go in for mandrel bent exhaust tubing like some of the members on the board have. good luck with it and post pics

You have a camaro - I believe the tech articles section of this site has a good article on how to make homemade ram air from the foglight housing - look into that you should
