I have a question about the tpi's

Can those motors last a long time, on highway miles?

Yes. As on any engine, with proper maintenance they can last a very long time.

I have always wondered what highway miles meant! I mean seriously. Not flaming you but when i see people sell cars with like "185k highway miles", i just laugh! It's still miles your car has been traveled, isn't it? Who knows, that person could have had the pedal to the floor while he was on the highway also, like all of the time. What it does come down to is how these cars and every car for that matter, is maintained! The replacement parts may be a little more than other motors, depending on part and where you look, but these motors can last however long you want them to last. Keep up on the motor like any other motor out there and you should be fine.

Stop and go driving (as often encountered in "city miles"), and short (< 10 minute) drives are harder on an engine than the same mileage on the highway.

but when i see people sell cars with like "185k highway miles", i just laugh!
Me too. It's hardly a selling point.
