TPIS minram, holley stealth ram, or accel superram
TPIS minram, holley stealth ram, or accel superram
I was thinking about building my motor to a 383 400hp plus tpi. I'm looking for a new induction system and currently am looking at the accel superram with accels manifold b/c I think that is the only manifold that will fit that. But was looking at the mini ram in the TPIS magazine I have and says it could put out 95+hp on ported or worked engines. Also the stealth ram I don't know anything about it btu I'm doing some research here and there about it. Which systems do you guys like out there? Even if it is something different then what I named your reponces would be great. Also post some pics if you have

All (3) manifolds will help you achieve your 400 HP goal. I like the Stealth Ram & LT1 conversion because of the price - I have a Mini Ram on my personal 383. The Super Ram is the only emissions legal one out of the group, if you require emissions... the SR gets the vote.

I like the superram b/c of the emissions factor - however all of them are adequate.
Think about low end torque tho, the SR will maintain the low end torque better than the others, while still giving substantially higher revs.

Get the Stealth Ram its the best for the money.I can break the tire's loose at 15mph if I punch it with my set up.So there is no need for any more torque down low(super ram) and it will pull to over 6000rpm with out a problem(mini ram).Or if you want to be different here is a couple of single planes converted for EFI
The first is a Edelbrock's new Victor EFI the second is Holleys Weiand Stealth

Stealthram about 700 bud, cause you need the new rails.
THe stealthram cannot be beat as far as price goes, expcept maaaaybeeee by the LT1.
Hey I thought those single planes were for carbs! =(
How in the world do our runners hook up? Or would you need other stuff for the weiand and edelbrock single planes?
Please explain, I now am interested =9

Single plane EFI like the one pictured Above is very similar to Carb or TBI As far as the Intake Design. There is no plenum persay, But in reality there is plenum Volume under the throttle body.
The differance in Single plane multiport EFI vrs a Carb, or TBI is that the Throttle body is dry flow - No fuel.
The Fuel is injected at the intake port the same as our TPI systems.
So the dynamics of intake design and fucntion are quite similar to a carb setup, While the fuel delivery has all the benifits of port injection.
Really a great setup for the full Boogie Motor.

so that intake would take the place of the tpi? And what I mean by stealth ram is the one in this link

Styln,Yes that single plane takes the place of the TPI.That is the stealth ram but you dont need those $1700-$2300 kits if you allready have TPI you just need the manifold and fuel rails less than $500.

The Super Ram sucks for instal and maintenance. I am pretty sure the Super Ram wins the torque debate. The Miniram ownes the top end with almost no limit. The Stealth Ram seems to fill the gap between the two. I have personaly owned the Super and the Mini. On my AFR 210 heads the Mini only absorbed 10cfm up to .700 lift. The Super on the other hand absorbed 50+cfm. This was on heads that flowed 298.6 @ .600. The Super was done by 5,800rpm and I rev my Mini to 6,700 with a slight restriction. I can feel the torque difference, but I have a 4,000 stall so there is no need for torque down low. I blow the tires off at any thing less than 40mph. The Super is notorious for vacumm leaks. The gasket kit is $24 and will take you a couple of hours to take apart. The Super never ligns up and usually need some masaging to work properly. I would stay away from the Super and go with the Stealth if you are not looking for the limits of your combo. The Stealth seems to be putting out some realy good numbers up to 6,500rpm. Go Mini if you want ungodly top end.
I've heard a lot of good about the Stealthram. I'm going to be installing it myself in a few months, so I'll know more then. If you already have a TPI, then, as stated, it will only run you about $500. It is deffinitely the best for the more middle of the road car. That is, not a Camry, and not John Force. -

Seems like it'd be restrictive... and will the custom fuel rails fit with the stock TPI equipment?
Sorry if I'm wrong, but it seems like those kits are necessary...
Where can you go about ordering just the manifold + fuel rails?

ONE2FLY You reuse the T-body,injectors,and sensors thats it.You need some adapters for the fuel line do a search on the stealth ram you will find all the info you need for the swap.Heres pics of the bare manifold

Are both of those pics you posted of the Stealth Ram? The first one looks like a FI 4-barrel and these last two look like a modified TPI. Which one is which?
