questions about vortec heads

what year to get?

are all aluminum or is there steel?

whats the best casting to get?

does anyone have the part number from chevy to get the right heads?

do they come in pairs? or sold seperatly?

I heard somthing about 062 castings and a price of 500 bucks.

I work for chevy so I get a discount on parts that I buy, but I asked the parts guy about the heads and he said part numbers would be good and what year and vehicle there from is good to.

all help appreciated.


does anyone have the casting numbers for the 1988 chev 350 TPI heads? are these heads any good? I have these right now but I dont know if there worth rebuilding or going to buy new heads.

 

I would try a search on Vortec or Fastburn as these heads have been covered plenty already.
