The episode of the neutral switch is over but now when I am driving my car and I get to a light, the voltage meter jumps from 14 to 9 to 14 to 9 and then stays at nine till I throw the car in neutral and give it gas. BTW, it does the samething even in neutral when I don't give it gas.

Lights dim inside and outside the car. Never had this problem at all. What do you guys think it is?

Thanks.

So what was the question?

Do you have underdrive pullies? If so, no surprise, of course it doesn't charge worth a damn at idle.

Otherwise, unless you've recently added some high draw accessories, and unless you have a loose/bad wire/connection, i'd say your alternator on it's way out. No surprise there, the alternators that came in our cars are complete junk and die all the time.

You can upgrade to a CS-144 series alternator like came on the B4C cars. It's a large case high output design and is not prone to oveheating like the stock CS-130. Do a search on CS-144 swap or variants to find info in this, you'll need at leasta new alt. bracket to handle the bigger case, i forget if there is anything else. You also *may* be able to swap a CS-130D in, which is the later model open case 130 design that also cools much better, but i don't know if there is anything useful out there on this swap. Or just replace it with a stocker and cross your fingers.
