Piston-valve clearance on 305 TPI

Looking at cams for the motor I bought this summer. Question is:
Have any of you guys run into piston-valve clearance issues with your motors when doing the cam swap? Just wondering how much room I have to work with...sorta speak. Thnks guys!

Piston to valve clearance... I dont think you'll run into any problems there.

Not really sure yet. I picked up a set of Vortec heads at a good price. I was gonna have 'em milled and use a converted LT4 intake for induction. However, I don't wanna have machine work done to my heads for more lift (I think they will take around .480 or so) if I am limited by piston-valve clearance. I was actually just wondering if anyone had any problems with it. I had a friend kill his carbed 305 in his Caprice that way....though he was less than remorseful it seems like

Axle/Gears: Yup -- they still work
not vortec heads

I ran this cam -> 217/225 .505/.525 with factory heads and pistons in an L03. No problems.

I am running vortec heads and a ZZ-4 cam with 1.52 rockers which ends up at .480 intake and .515 on the exhaust. I am also running a .015 thick head gasket and my piston to valve clearence was .105 on the exhaust and more (can't remember the number) on the intake. You should not have any problems but don't take my word on it, you still need to check.
