Porting & Polishing
Around how much does it cost to have pluenum and runners ported and polished? I have been thinking about getting it done to dress up my engine bay a little along with some new valve covers. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
You spoke of dressing up your engine bay. I ask if it is performance your looking for or someone to polish runners (externally) and plenum. I have a friend who polishes for Street and Performance in Mena, Arkansas. I'll have to ask him how much he charges. He does work on the side. Now if your looking for what you actually asked "port and polish" then save your money and buy a arbor kit and die grinder after pulling apart and get with it. When doing aluminum I use some parfin gulf wax on my bits which keeps the aluminum from building up on the tool and actually sends the slivers of aluminum flying when they stop flying recoat with wax and go again concentrate on the upper side of intake runners although not alot can be taken out but everybit helps. Same way behind the throttle body area. Gouge out eyebrows but watch out for bolt hole areas. Knock down until good smooth entry that is unobstructed is attained. I think if you look under search you will find some guys that take pictures and show you the process. Good luck. Hope you acheive your goals.
