It does fit under stock camaro hoods. Unless you've got some kind of funky motor mounts that jack the motor up, or the car got murdered and fixed wrong, there should be no fitment problems.

Mine fit under my stock hood, though I did
have to do some brace clearancing on one
spot of the hood and my isulation is off the
hood.. (I do have ES poly motor mounts which
are suppose to raise the motor height just a
bit..)

shows the dimple that had to be cut out because
it hit the throttlebody..

Mine hits the indent for the hood louvers. I may have to swap for a RS hood or cowl.

You can search for my post on how to modify the HSR to fit under your hood VERY easily. It involved milling off the fins, milling the bottom of the plenum, and milling about 1/16" off the base.

I VERY much like the cut plenum look. It will polish out very well and look slim and non-kleenexified.

The bracing will still have to be trimmed.
I used an engine tie down strap (turnbuckle and chains) for my 86 IROC with the stock hood to limit engine movement because I knew it was going to be tight. I did not think I had any clearance issues with stock type replacement motor mounts. However, after seeing this post and double-checking since putting a number of miles (and quarter miles) on the car, I see where the T/B has been ever so slightly rubbing the same spot 85Mike posted. It also looks like I need to trim a fraction of an inch from a corner of the lip of the bracing surrounding the indention for the hood louvers - very minor "surgery". I'm sure it would have been more noticeable if not for the engine limiter.
