sending unit lines

ok on third gen fuel sender units it looks like there are four lines total coming from them/going to them

two appear to be 3/8" and the other two appear to be 5/16"

is this true ?

and also are all four lines not spliced or connected until over to far driver side end of the tank ?

if i were ot get a good used or new sending unit would i get full length of hard lines all way from the sender unit over to the far driver side end of the tank ?

hope so,., cuz that would fix my hard line splice problem i have on the 88

thanks for anything

guess am/can get away with flaring and butt-connecting the 3/8" output line at where its been cut above the tank, kinda wierd how its unsafe or whatever to splice lines when all is used on the output of the tank is a rubber line clamped by plastic clamps ! they always stay put without blowing off, so what the heck !?

hmmm....
