please help. i am doing a lt1 swap from my 87 lg4 z28. i need to replace the gas tank and i'm not sure which one to get. i know that i need a tpi tank with the pump in the tank. but i went to the parts store and they had a 15 gallon tank and a 14 gallon tank. one with a filler neck, and one without. would either fit?

I thought there was only one for these cars: 15 gallon w/ filler neck.

 

No reason to remove the Lg4 tank, jut get the TPI fuel ender assembly.

 

i need the tpi sender unit, but that is an in tank pump. i don't know

 

What he is saying is that all thank fuel tanks were the same, regardless if the car came with carburator, TBI or TPI. Its the sending unit thats different. The TBI/TPI cars came w/ high pressure fittings on the end, the Carb sending units did not. If your tank is not damaged, then you can just replace the sending unit, since that is what the pump is mounted to.
