Cutting back spark plug electrode, ala TPIS?
Has anyone tried this? It looks like it would work in theory.
How far do they say to trim the electrode? Any dyno or SOTP results?
I have a set of Bosch Platinums I can try this on. The car isn't running right now because it needs new wires,cap/rotor,header intall completed.
Thanks!

I've known some pretty reputable people to say it can be worth a consistent fraction of a tenth mph, which implies a couple HP from it. Properly indexed in the head too, you might even get 8hp if you're lucky.
If you have the time and do regular plug changes then go ahead and try it. It will not hurt anything (unless you go idiocally far). Don't expect magic. Nor should you expect anyone to believe you if you think you found a magic 3 tenths since that would be out of line for what it is known to be worth and owuld probably be due to another factor. But in the world of every little bit helps.
If it matters, if i'm bored sometimes i'll cut back mine. Can't say i ever noticed a thing, but i wasn't expecting anything either. Since i'm now getting lazier on my plug changes, i might even go so far as to take the time to index them as well in the spring.

Ive read it can give you like 7hp. Ive done it before and didnt notice anything good or bad except my plugs wore out faster it wore down the center electrode quicker but also I ran my fastest time with my plugs like that. I dont think it slowed me down thats for sure.
I have done this and to be honnest, I could not tell much difference, however, in theory it could yeild a little hp. Just like the split fire plugs. I usually do cut my electrodes so they have a little curve left, then gap the plug to .035 and my Z runs perfect. I figure if it runs fine this way and the spark is that much more exposed, what the heck! It can only be helping the fuel burning process.
