New to posting here so don't eat me alive please I'm currently at the final point in my new engine in my 88 Iroc. Motor is in, and most everything bolted up, and plugged in. I'm running the HO350 from GM, and still using the TPI setup. I have the SD Vortec TPI intake, and since the runners are going to be the biggest choke point on the engine, I figured while I've gone this far, I may as well replace the stock runners as well. Now my question is, which runners are the better flowing out of the two, and which would be better in my applacation. I have also read that the SLP runners require a little machining on the lower half that bolts to the intake. Has anyone had any problems with either set of runners with them not lining up flush with the SD intake? Anyone else who is running this combination please feel free to comment on how well the engine runs, and any problems that you may have encountered so I can fix it ahead of time. Thanks in advance

Gary

lt1 intake, flows better and is cheaper (just my.02)

but seriously, i would go with SLP's cause you can port the **** out of them, i would siamese the runners half way down, and port the upper plenum to match. also match the opening by the TB. I think the SLP's and the edelbrocks flow about the same stock, SLP's are more portable though. hope that helps ya

That sounds like a good plan to me.
I think you should always mock up the runners & base off the car and shine a light into the intake ports to verify the alignment before installing.
Of course you could just siamese and open up the intake ports so there would be no alignment problem, and also save money on runners since stock runners would then be able to flow much more.
just another idea.
good luck with the engine.
